DESCRIPTION:Margaret (Maggie) Radcliffe\, renown author\, teacher and knitting designer will be presenting “My Journey Through the Heritage Sheep Breeds: A Knitting Designer does Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em.”  Maggie has had a long and varied career with degrees in Medieval Studies and English Literature\, has been an internal auditor\, computer programmer\, business executive\, research administrator\, dancer\, and editor.  Her current fiber arts interests include preparing\, spinning\, and designing hand knits using heritage breeds and participation in The Livestock Conservancy’s Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em program.  The program will be on Zoom and have a Question and Answer segment for our guild members to participate.

DESCRIPTION:Many members have expressed interest in being in the Holiday and Exhibit Sale but are concerned about the jurying process for items to be sold. Debbie Schluckebier and a committee of past jurors for the annual HES will demonstrate the jurying process and hopefully take the fear out of participating.   Members attending or on Zoom can share items like the ones sold in previous sales to encourage new members to join in the experience. \n  \n

She will share parts of the tapestry and stories from participants. You will learn how you can participate and the future goals for the project. \nBrecia Kralovic-Logan is a creativity cultivator\, champion for women’s voices\, and nationally recognized fiber artist. She is the founder of the International Women’s Festival Pacific Northwest\, and a regional ambassador for the Global Art Project for Peace. Kralovic-Logan is the author of “The Spiral of Creativity-Mastering the Art of the Spirited Life.” She teaches and speaks at international art conferences. Her artwork has been exhibited nationally and is in the collections of museums and private collectors. Currently\, she promotes creativity\, community\, and compassion through the Women’s Woven Voices project – an international collaborative fiber art project that promotes women’s empowerment through writing\, weaving\, and sharing their stories. DESCRIPTION:Come relax and visit with members with a treatluck (you know\, the dessert without the meal) and optional gift exchange.  Bring a favorite snack\, or don’t if you feel too overwhelmed with the holidays already\, and a gift for the exchange if you like.  Please limit the gift to about $10\, and it doesn’t have to be handmade\, although we always enjoy those for sure. Donations will be made to our designated charity announced at an earlier meeting.

Other items include luscious hand-spun yarns\, Christmas ornaments\, an exceptional selection of fiber-art wall pieces and rugs\, a variety of hand-felted hats and incredible woven bead-work. \nAll make wonderful holiday gifts! The Exhibition and Sale is the culmination of the year’s creative efforts of many guild members. You will find a stunning array of works in wool\, silk\, pearl cotton\, glittering beads\, recycled fibers and much more. \nAdmission is free. Guild members will personally answer your questions\, discuss various art-related activities in our area and aid you in selection of pieces.
