Our April 1st event, celebrating our 75th anniversary, was a big undertaking and happily, was well received. We had a nice turn out of well over 100 people in attendance. Many thanks go to Debbie Schluckebier, who chaired the committee, kept us organized, and tied up all those loose ends.

We had many exhibits on display for our guests to view. Paula McFarling and Dyan Pursell worked together to show the accomplishments and work created by our members over the past 75 years. Ginny Wallace and Leandra Spangler worked with the membership, getting them to pair up and create works for the Fiber Art Collaborations exhibit. This exhibit showed a sampling of works completed to date. Debbie Schluckebier, Nancy Elliott, Jan Berry, and the Fiber Arts study group worked together to complete two archival membership books, showcasing most of the present CWSG membership. Cindy Kilfoyle set up a display featuring the work of area elementary school students, who have participated in CWSG’s Youth Fiber Art exhibits. Each CWSG study group set up a display showing the focus of their studies and past work. Jenny Chicone dug through the archives to digitize hundreds of CWSG faces from the past 75 years. Debbie Prost shared her creative talents by making decorations for our event. Many thanks to them all!

A display of Guild historical anecdotes and examples of fiber art techniques along with pieces from the Fiber Art Collaborations exhibit will be on display at MU Ellis library during the 2022 fall semester.
