Monthly Program Guide for CWSG 2023-2024
The Columbia Weavers and Spinners’ Guild meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month, September through May. Each meeting, except those in December and June, includes an educational program about fibers or textiles. Each meeting also includes a show-and-tell session in which members can show off their creations or other items of interest to fiber enthusiasts. In December, the guild hosts a pitch-in dinner, usually with a gift exchange. In June, a combination meeting/potluck is arranged. There are no meetings in July and August.
Meetings are held at the Bethel Baptist Church, 201 E Old Plank Rd, Columbia, MO 65203. The Columbia Weavers and Spinners’ Guild always welcomes guests to its meetings. Business meetings will be on Zoom this year, with show and tell immediately following. Guild programs will be in-person, unless Zoom is planned in advance for that speaker.
The Challenge 2023-2024 is use your fiber art to produce or explore a technique that highlights the use of your senses.
Use texture for pattern, colors for contrast or to tell a story through touch, smell, sight and sound. There are no limits on how to weave this into your fiber arts. May 21, 2024 participants will join in a show and tell presentation and celebrate their accomplishments.

Hybrid Knitting PT, Andrea Lui, a physical therapist and avid knitter, will present an interactive program on ergonomics, stretching and using our bodies in a kind way during crafting.
Feburary 20, 2024

Spin-in! Join us to spin the evening away. We will have different wheels and spindles set up to try your hand at. Bring your handmade yarn, a wheel and fiber enthusiasm to share. We will also have the guild drum carder set up to try making some textured batts.
